Jun Kazama — TEKKEN 8 Character Guide

Medium threat

Updated 2026-06-03

Jun Kazama makes her long-awaited return in TEKKEN 8 after being absent since TEKKEN 2. She plays very differently from Jin and Kazuya — Jun is a defensive, counter-based character with a unique healing mechanic. She is easier to learn than Kazuya but requires good reads to excel. Think of her as a beginner-friendly character with a high ceiling.

Unique mechanics

Jun has a unique healing ability — her Izumo stance (1+2) slowly recovers health over time. She also has a counter stance (b+1+3 / b+2+4) that parries specific attack types and gives a free follow-up. Her movement is above average and her pokes are solid, making her a great character for learning TEKKEN fundamentals.

Combos

Jun's combo from df+2: df+2 > f,f+3 > b+2, 1 S! > dash > f,f+3 > 2+3. This does about 68 damage. In Heat mode, use the healing cancel to extend: df+2 > f,f+3 > Izumo (hold 1+2) > cancel into f+2 > b+2, 1 S! > Heat Dash > f,f+3+4. This route heals you during the combo and deals 85+ damage. It is unique to Jun and feels amazing to pull off.

Jun's healing is not a gimmick — it wins rounds. In close matches, healing 15-20 HP per Heat activation can be the difference between winning and losing. Use Izumo stance after a knockdown for free recovery while your opponent gets up.

Playstyle tips

Jun rewards patient, defensive play. Use her counter stance to punish aggressive opponents. Mix between ff+3 (mid) and d+3+4 (low) to keep them guessing. Her weakness is low damage output compared to Jin or Kazuya — you need to win more interactions to take a round. Focus on taking minimal damage rather than maximizing your own offense.

FAQ

Is Jun Kazama good for beginners?
Yes. Her healing makes her forgiving of mistakes, and her pokes are straightforward. She is a great character to learn TEKKEN 8 fundamentals with.
How does Jun's healing work exactly?
Hold 1+2 to enter Izumo stance. You regenerate HP slowly while in the stance. You can cancel it with a forward dash or attack. The heal stops when you take damage.
