TEKKEN 8 Eddy Gordo Guide — Capoeira Master
Updated 2026-06-03
Eddy Gordo returns in TEKKEN 8 with his signature Capoeira fighting style and a reworked moveset that makes him more accessible than ever. He is still a stance-heavy character, but the new Heat system gives him tools to open up defensive opponents. If you like flashy, rhythmic gameplay, Eddy is your guy.
Stance system
Eddy has two stances: Handstand (RLX) and Regular. He can transition between them with specific moves. Handstand has low attacks and sweeps that are great for mix-ups. Regular stance gives him faster pokes and better movement. The key to Eddy is making your stance transitions unpredictable.
| Stance | Entry | Key Moves |
|---|---|---|
| Handstand (RLX) | d+3+4 or from certain attacks | RLX 4 (low sweep), RLX 3 (mid launcher), RLX 1+2 (throw) |
| Regular | Default, or tap up after Handstand | f+2 (fast mid), df+1 (jab), b+3 (long range kick) |
Simple combo route
A basic Eddy combo: launch with RLX 3 (from Handstand), then RLX 4, 4 for carry, then f,f+3 for a re-launch, then uf+4, b+2, 1 S!, dash, RLX 3 for the ender. This does about 70 damage. In Heat mode, replace the ender with Heat Smash for 85+ damage.
FAQ
- Is Eddy Gordo good in TEKKEN 8?
- He is solid B-Tier. His stance mix-ups are strong online where reactions are slower. At high level, good players know the RLX matchup and can punish his transitions.
- How do I stop Eddy's pressure?
- Sidestep right beats most of Eddy's Handstand options. Punish whiffed sweeps with your character's fastest launcher.
